As our relationship with the Lord continues to grow, we have to embrace the idea that our divine assignment has a blueprint which is drawn by God. Often, we think the drawing is too big, but God has the necessary tools, equipment, and material to get the job done. We have to trust that He will build us exactly how He wants to, and that can be challenging as we try to come up with our own design options. How do we allow His blueprints to be the driving force and not our own? I want to share three simple ways that will allow us to let God’s blueprints manifest into a beautiful design in our lives.
- We must realize that we have been chosen by God. 1 Peter 2:9 (NIV) states it perfectly, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” God has chosen us to be an awesome representation of who He is so the blueprints He has designed is drawn specifically for us.
- We have to trust God in order for the blueprints to be built to His specifications. We can try to use our own blueprints for construction, but they won’t have the solid foundation needed to withstand life’s varying weather conditions. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds of us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
- We have to depend on God’s provision. Jeremiah 29:11(NIV) says, “For I know the plans I have for you, ‘declares the Lord,’ plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” God has all the necessary tools and materials needed to build a glorious creation-Us! Within His design, He can fix and repair the places we would miss otherwise.
Our foundations are weak, the support beams aren’t nailed in, and the roof isn’t sealed properly. Only God has the perfectly drawn blueprints filled with a purpose that leads to a destiny abundant with His wonderful splendor. We just have to realize the chosen gift we are and that trusting in His provision will lead to the best-designed structure built and supported by Him.
